Now we have many smiles and fingers that caress the walls. Families feel their loved ones are in a home and not in an institution. Staff find the murals gentle and helpful. The residents react to one or another painted scene, giving a little sense to their continuous wandering.

By integrating the residents of the elderly home in the process of creating the murals, we had them participate. The various sketches developed by the Anouk Foundation painters were submitted to the residents, who expressed their chooses. Then, several of the residents gave a hand to the painters, which made them feel esteemed and special!

Some residents took pleasure in chatting, congratulating and visiting the work in progress. In the door corners, roes, cows, cats, dogs and squirrels appeared, becoming visual aids for the residents to find their rooms more easily and in a fun way. It finally brings some colour and it's very pleasant, it changes the grey and it puts you in a good mood, you'd think you were on holiday, it makes you want to go.
